A more capable computer should give people greater ownership, access, and room to create. These commitments guide the Inference Desktop™ concept.

Free by design.

Access to a more capable computer should not depend on assembling a collection of separate software licenses.

The source concept proposes a freely available, AI-native computing environment. Execution, applications, and safeguards belong to the same overall experience, with fewer divisions between operating system, software store, and support.

It is an ambition to make capable tools available to more people, on infrastructure they can use and control.

Ownership starts
close to home.

Personal intelligence deserves a personal foundation.

Local inference and local infrastructure are central to the vision. They provide a direction for keeping data and intelligence closer to the people who create and use them.

Sovereignty here is a guiding idea: people should have meaningful ownership over their computing environment, rather than having every capability depend on a distant, closed service.

Safeguards
from the beginning.

Privacy and governance belong in the architecture.

The concept calls for deterministic safeguards alongside local inference layers. Safety is intended to be a foundational concern, woven into the framework as capabilities are added and used.

That is a design commitment, rather than a claim that any system can guarantee perfect security. The work is to make protection part of the computing experience from its first principles.

Open to
possibility.

People should be able to shape their tools without being stopped by proprietary barriers or technical complexity.

The original narrative calls this the “NoSource” model: an ambition to remove closed structural boundaries while letting people create without managing source environments themselves.

The community Skills ecosystem carries that idea forward. Reusable contributions and shared components offer a path toward continuous improvement, with more people able to participate in shaping what computing becomes.
